Understandably, safety is a big concern for many as they are deciding whether to participate in this year’s events. The core of our planning of this event is to provide a safe and healthy event for all participants, volunteers, and staff. Which is why we are continuing to work very closely with the local municipalities to ensure we are adhering to all public health guidelines.
We are recommending all staff and volunteers who are not vaccinated to wear a mask/face covering at all times. Participants will be recommended to wear a mask/face covering during non-competition times if they are not vaccinated: packet pick-up, pre and post-race, start lines, immediate finish line (masks will be given to participants if needed). We also recommend that all participants, volunteers, staff and spectators be in good health.
Minimal contact will be made at packet pick-up by using electronic check in devices. Participants may register at packet pick-up and day of the race, but are asked to do so from their own personal devices.
Participants will be lined up in the start corral of 20 people each and will be socially distanced 10 feet apart (masks will be provided if needed). Waves of 20 will be released two at a time every 10 seconds maintaining social distancing. Once a wave of 20 is released a staff member will allow 20 more participants into the corral.
Aid stations will be self-serve, tables will be spaced 25 feet apart with cups of water and Gatorade. The finish line will have 16 oz water bottles available.
Participants are encouraged to leave the finish area as soon as they complete the race. Sealed 16 oz water bottles and pre-packaged, self-serve/prepackaged nutrition will be available to grab and go. There will be no beer or entertainment at the finish line but please enjoy a free beverage at Inventors Brewpub. All results will be streamed live and will be sent to mobile devices. Additionally, there will be no awards ceremony, but top finishers will be announced and overall/age group awards will be available for pick-up at a separate table.
